Mid-Year Refresh: Stay On Top of Your Marketing

Hi friends!

Can you believe we’re officially halfway through 2025?

At this point in the year, your nonprofit has so much to keep up with, check on, and update, that it can be hard to keep track.

So, to help with some of that mid-year busyness, I’ve compiled a checklist of quick and easy things you can do to refresh your current marketing efforts.

Website Checklist

What to check

  • Is your contact information still correct?
  • Is your staff list and/or board of directors list correct?
  • Do all of your forms go to the correct email/nonprofit contact?
  • Have old event details and other outdated information been removed?
  • Is your most recent Annual Report or 990 Form uploaded and ready to view?
  • Are all of your links and buttons still working? Are they going to the right spot?

Updates to be made

  • Add photos from your newest events
  • Upload your most recent video projects
  • Swap out old testimonials/stories for new ones

Pro tip → You don’t need to handle website maintenance all on your own. This is a great place to outsource updates to other members of your team, or even volunteers!

Social Media Checklist

What to check

  • Is your logo clear and crisp? What about your banner?
  • Is your profile picture/logo consistent across all platforms?
  • Are your contact information links accurate (and functional)?
  • Is your bio/headline/”about” section accurate and up-to-date?
  • Has your login information been saved somewhere securely?
  • Do you have more than one admin on each account, just in case?

Updates to be made

  • Upload photos your audience hasn’t seen yet
  • Highlight a volunteer, staff member, or board member
  • Share stats about your services or events (“Did You Know?")

Pro tip → Keep a list of 10-15 topics that you know your audience is interested in. That way, you always have a bank of content ideas to pull from for social media!

Email Marketing Checklist

What to check

  • Is your email sign-up link/form easy to use?
  • Have you added new emails you’ve gotten from recent events?
  • Do you have a way for in-person email sign-ups (like a QR code)?
  • Is the email sign-up link on your website and social media working?
  • Have you removed any hard bounces or inactive emails from your list?
  • Do you have more than one admin on your email service provider, just in case?

Updates to be made

  • Add a newsletter section with FAQs
  • Highlight a specific service or program
  • Dedicate a section to thanking sponsors

Pro tip → When cleaning from your email list, make sure you’re only removing hard bounces. Soft bounces are usually temporary (like full mailboxes), and are okay to keep.

Now, I’d love to know...
